dr. R. Oudejans (Raôul)
Lector Sport- en PrestatiepsychologieRaôul Oudejans is bewegingswetenschapper en sinds 1991 werkzaam aan de Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, sinds 2011 als universitair hoofddocent. In 1996 is hij gepromoveerd op het proefschrift The Optics and Actions of Catching Fly Balls naar de visuele controle van het vangen van hoge boogballen bij honkbal. Hij ook als bijzonder lector Sport- en Prestatiepsychologie verbonden aan de Hogeschool van Amsterdam, bij de Faculteit Bewegen, Sport en Voeding. Het lectoraat valt onder de samenwerking die de VUA en HvA hebben onder de vlag van het Amsterdam Institute of Sport Science.
Raôul is altijd gefascineerd geweest door de enorme bewegingsvaardigheid waarmee we in en met onze omgeving interacteren en de oneindige mogelijkheden die we hebben om daarin steeds beter te worden zoals in sport, muziek en dans. Hij doet dan ook onderzoek naar waarnemen en bewegen in de sport en andere prestatiedomeinen met een accent op de invloed van psychologische factoren op presteren en leren. De laatste jaren heeft hij zich in zijn onderzoek gespecialiseerd in sport- en prestatiepsychologie in het algemeen en in de visuele controle van het basketbalschot (en andere sportvaardigheden) en trainen en presteren onder druk in de sport, podiumkunsten en bij de politie in het bijzonder.
Hij heeft meer dan 115 internationale wetenschappelijke publicaties op zijn naam, alsmede acht boekhoofdstukken en vier boeken, waaronder het studieboek Sportpsychologie (Bakker & Oudejans, 2012, 2019, Nieuwegein: Arko Sports Media), hij zit in de editorial board van twee internationale wetenschappelijke tijdschriften en geeft per jaar meer dan 10 presentaties op uitnodiging voor divers publiek. Verder heeft hij de afgelopen 12 jaar 11 succesvolle promovendi begeleid als co-promotor. Sinds 2018 is hij in het bezit van het promotierecht (ius promovendi) zodat hij ook als promotor kan optreden. Momenteel begeleidt hij drie promovendi als promotor en één als co-promotor. In de laatste drie jaar heeft hij meer dan een miljoen euro aan onderzoeksubsidie binnengehaald. Het RAAK Publiek onderzoeksproject Training for Excellence heeft in 2021 de derde prijs voor onderzoek van het jaar op de Hogeschool van Amsterdam ontvangen.
