dr. M. van der Schaaf (Marike) PhD
Bijzonder lector Revalidatie in de Acute ZorgMarike van der Schaaf is in 1991 als fysiotherapeut afgestudeerd aan de HvA. Daarna werkte ze als fysiotherapeut in de klinische en poliklinische revalidatie van ziekenhuispatiënten. Marike is sinds 1994 werkzaam in het Academisch Medisch Centrum (AMC), Universiteit van Amsterdam.
In 2004 voltooide Marike de opleiding tot klinisch epidemioloog aan de universitaire masteropleiding Evidence Based Practice (cum laude) en promoveerde in 2009 op het onderwerp Functioneel Herstel van Intensive Care patiënten (Functional Recovery After Critical Illness) aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam. Zij werkt als Universitair Hoofddocent op de afdeling revalidatiegeneeskunde van het AMC.
Met de combinatie van functies als lector bij de HvA Faculteit Gezondheid en onderzoeker bij de afdeling Revalidatiegeneeskunde in het AMC doet Marike samen met zorgprofessionals, onderzoekers, docenten en studenten praktijkgericht onderzoek.
De ruim 80 artikelen die zij publiceerde in nationale en internationale peer-reviewed tijdschriften, de presentaties op internationale en nationale wetenschappelijke bijeenkomsten, en de betrokkenheid bij opleiding en nascholing van zorgprofessionals laten zien dat zij veel belang hecht aan de verspreiding van kennis en expertise.
Op 7 juni 2016 hield Marike van der Schaaf haar lectorale rede ‘Zorg voor kwaliteit van overleving van ziekenhuispatiënten met een complexe hulpvraag’. Het lectoraat ‘Revalidatie in de Acute Zorg’ onderzoekt de gevolgen van ziekte en ziekenhuisopname en ontwikkelt revalidatiebehandelingen om deze gevolgen zoveel mogelijk te voorkomen. Marike is zeer bevlogen de kwaliteit van leven van (ex-)IC-patiënten te verbeteren.
Marike maakt deel uit van de kerngroep van de Stichting Family and patient Centered Intensive Care (FCIC). Binnen de FCIC zetten ervaringsdeskundigen, professionals en wetenschappers zich in om de impact van opname op een intensive care (IC) te beperken voor (ex)-IC-patiënten en hun naasten.
Een van de belangrijke projecten waar Marike zich mee bezig houdt is het REACH netwerk .
