Marjon van Rijn is bijzonder lector bij het Universitair Netwerk Ouderenzorg Amsterdam (UNO Amsterdam); een samenwerking tussen 23 ouderenzorgorganisaties en het Amsterdam UMC, afdeling Ouderengeneeskunde. Daarnaast werkt zij voor de HvA als hoofddocent Onderzoek bij de opleiding HBO-Verpleegkunde en als themacoördinator Intensieve Complexe Zorg, onderdeel van het Centre of Expertise Urban Vitality (CoE UV).

Marjon is afgestudeerd aan de opleiding Verpleegkunde aan de Hogeschool van Rotterdam. Daarna volgde zij de master Gezondheidswetenschappen aan de Vrije Universiteit van Amsterdam. In 2017 promoveerde Marjon op de FIT-studie; een onderzoek naar de effecten van multifactoriële zorg bij thuiswonende ouderen, gecoördineerd door een wijkverpleegkundige.
