Romy Ende - Graduated in 2022 from the Aviation Engineering track
If this isn’t your first job since graduation: what were your other jobs and at which companies?
It started at the HvA, where I managed the HvA Instagram account about the Aviation program. Then I ended up at Checkpoint (NPO Zapp), a Dutch television program for children. I was part of the main cast for two seasons, and I learned a lot about the media there.
After Checkpoint ended, I started freelancing, working for various technical clients like Dura Vermeer and Techniek Nederland. Now, I also work for NH Nieuws and Aviodrome.
How did you end up in your current job?
Now I am working part-time as a freelance journalist for NH Nieuws. Currently, I am creating an online series about the history of KLM in Amstelveen. Besides that, I make videos for Aviodrome, an aviation museum in Lelystad, and I also take on various freelance gigs as they come up.
What are your daily operations?
I spend a lot of time working behind my laptop, creating and editing videos. When I'm out on location, I meet many different people and work in a new place each time.
What do you like most at your job?
I enjoy presenting, meeting different people, and I really appreciate that I can express my creativity.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Uhmm hard question. I hope to further develop myself as a presenter in the tech world, or if I get tired of that, to have a job in the aviation industry.
What did you like most in your education that helps you out nowadays in your work?
That's a hard question. I don't think there was anything specific, but the fact that I completed a technical degree helps me with having a specific niche within the media industry.
Are you still connected to the Aviation Academy?
No, not anymore since I graduate. But I will forever feel a bit connected, because my media carrier started at the Hva when I was responsible for the HVA-Instagram take overs about Avioation
Have you been a member of the SVAAA?
Yes, I was a member just before COVID. Unfortunately, no activities could take place during the pandemic, and after COVID, I was too busy with graduating, so I stopped my membership.
